Civil War-era U.S. Model 1860 Light Cavalry Saber, attributed to C. Roby & Co., Chelmsford, Massachusetts. Features curved, fullered steel blade, brass three-branch handguard, ribbed black grip, and metal scabbard. Blade bears partially legible manufacturer markings appearing to end in "Roby," with additional inspection markings on reverse. Blade and scabbard exhibit oxidation, patina, scratches, and age-related wear. Manufacturer attribution based on partially legible markings. The blade is rusted and pitted on both sides at the hilt making the maker's mark and the date stamp hard to determine.
